11 Days Tanzania Safari – relaxed and comfortable [Favourite for 50+]

From logistics to lodges, from activities to adventures: everything is taken care of when you head into the Tanzania holiday you’ve dreamed of your whole life.

You kick things off in Arusha with a relaxing day at the pool or exploring the vibrant city. Then the time has come to go out and explore: in your private and comfortable 4×4, you first enjoy the beauties of Tarangire National Park – the kingdom of elephants – during an exhilarating game drive. Want to take a break and walk around for a few minutes? No problem! This is your safari, and you determine the pace.

At Gibb’s Farm, you can find out how coffee is planted, harvested, and roasted. Of course, you’ll also enjoy a cup yourself, as well as a lunch with local delicacies. With this new energy, you dive into the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which welcomes you not only with stunning landscapes but also with the highest wildlife density on the continent. One highlight chases the next when you head to the Serengeti. Keep your eyes open for the Big Five and witness millions of wildebeest and zebras galloping through the endless plains during the Great Wildebeest Migration.

In between these unforgettable experiences, you relax at comfortable lodges that spoil you with peace, quiet, and all kinds of amenities. At a jewellery making workshop at Shanga, you can let your creativity run wild and create some souvenirs for your loved ones (or yourself). But to be honest, it will be the memories that you will cherish forever.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is well known for its big groups of elephants and the huge amount of giant baobab trees. These trees can live for hundreds of years and are actually a source of water for elephants in the dry season as they have a special technique to draw water from them. Besides, the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the dry season, which is why in this season in Tarangire you can see groups of up to 250 elephants next to many more animals! Watch the video of the park here.

Day 5

Gibb's Farm walk & lunch

Gibb's Farm offers the old-age rhythm of an African farm and coffee plantation, right on the slopes of Ngorongoro Highlands. Walk around on this sanctuary of peace and tranquility, and watch vegetables being harvested, coffee roasted, cows milked, and pigs fed. The vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and herbs provide inspiration for the farm's chefs, who in their turn amaze visitors with a delicious lunch. A little piece of heaven!

Day 6

Ngorongoro Conservation Area (incl. Crater)

The famous Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's seven natural wonders. The crater was formed two million years ago when a vast volcano erupted. The fertile lava has created a unique ecosystem, now home to the highest concentration of animals found anywhere in Africa! Once in the crater, thousands of animals such as lions, zebras, buffalos and black rhinos surround you, and the views are astounding – you won’t know where to look! Watch the video of the park here.

And of course, plenty of other beautiful animals, which your guide will be delighted to search for together with you. Are you ready for this? Watch the video of the park here.
