Your guide to Tanzania's wonders

Me and my father went on a 9-day Safari trip with the help of Tanzania Specialist. On our second day, we met our guide, George Malley. He was in a great mood and started off by cracking some jokes. We felt very comfortable from the moment we met him. We then went from Arusha to Tarangire, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater, after which we returned to Kilimanjaro Airport. Through the trip, we always trusted George and his judgment. He knew the national parks and the wildlife very well and was great at explaining everything about them. He knew the roads very well, and it seemed to us like he an internal GPS or something. The bush felt like his second home. He brought us a truly unforgettable experience, during which we got to witness so many different incredible animals. In fact, we saw the Big Five within about an hour of entering the Serengeti. Most notably, George spotted a Black Rhino from several miles away, which was truly spectacular. He was also generous enough to get up early in the morning to take us out in the bush and witness the Savannah during sunrise, where many animals are very active. For example, he remembered the kill site of a zebra form the afternoon before, drove us back out at 6am, and allowed us to see a lioness and her cubs feeding on the carcass, just meters away from the car. It was truly surreal. All in all, George was an amazing guide and we me and my father highly recommend him to anyone going on Safari in Tanzania, as well as Tanzania Specialist as a whole.

We travelled in June 2026 to Tanzania (mainland) and Zanzibar. (Almost) Everything was organised very well. From arrival, to journey back home. Our driver (Simon) knows exactly where (not) to go. He knows the surroundings, and the (behavior of) animals. That's why we came home with photographs leaving all our family and friends in awe. The quality of an organisation lies in the circumstances that you don't expect. I fell, in the first days of our holiday, with a glass in my hand, and i needed hospitalcare for getting stitches. The concern of the Backoffice (Lina) made me, despite my wounds, smile. It is good to know someone cares about you, when you are 10.000 kilometers from home. The only thing what can improve was the booking of excursions in Zanzibar. Our hotel was very remote and it needed 1,5 hrs traveltime to get to Stone Town or Spicefarms. We did not want to stay for almost a week on the resort itself. In the booking it wasn't clear which part of the organisation was responsible for the booking. I needed several contacts to ask for confirmation. At last everything was settled and the excursion was organised fine(driver, guide OK). And we got a wonderfull day out.

We booked a 9 day private safari with Tanzania Specialist and had an amazing experience, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, George Malley. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable throughout the entire trip. George seemed to know every road and track in the Serengeti and the other parks without ever needing a map. His experience and timing were exceptional – he always knew where to go and when to be there, giving us the best possible opportunities to see wildlife. Thanks to him, we saw an incredible variety of animals and enjoyed many unforgettable moments. Beyond his wildlife expertise, George was also very knowledgeable about nature, culture, and people of Tanzania. He was always happy to answer questions and share interesting insights, which made the experience even more rewarding. We highly recommend Geotge Malley to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. What can I say… AMAZING! The whole process from booking our holiday with Fanny, to the actual holiday was perfect. Nothing was missed. We had a fantastic time. Our tour guide Alpha was incredible! He really made it extra special for us, he was very knowledgeable and made sure we got to see all of the animals we could hope to! (Although he would say we were lucky) but really it was down to his knowledge and where to go to see them. Alpha is a credit to Tanzania specialist! I’ve added pictures of the amazing animals we got to see! Our trip to Zanzibar followed the safari and it has been great l, very relaxing (perfect after a week of safari)! I was initially hesitant to book with Tanzania Specialist after reading some mixed reviews, but I decided to trust them for our honeymoon, and I’m very glad I did. Our experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. First, our guide Roger Solomon was outstanding. We had specifically requested him after seeing a recommendation online, and he exceeded expectations. His English is a bit basic, so if you prefer very detailed explanations this is something to keep in mind, but if you’re easygoing and focused on the experience, he is perfect. He is kind, attentive, and has an incredible ability to spot animals. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five. Of course, wildlife sightings also depend on weather, timing, season, and luck, not just the guide. The safari experience itself involves a lot of bumpy driving inside and between parks, with long travel days. A lot can also happen during safari travel, we saw several jeeps with engine issues or flat tires, and we even got stuck in the mud in the Serengeti at around 7pm for over an hour. However, to be honest, we are quite adventurous and we actually enjoyed the experience rather than getting annoyed. Life happens, and it becomes part of the adventure. Despite everything, the landscapes and wildlife sightings made it completely worthwhile, and every destination felt rewarding after the journey. The logistics were very well organized. From airport pick-ups to transfers between hotels and parks, everything was handled smoothly. Angel helped us arrange excellent accommodations overall—luxurious, comfortable, and with great food throughout the trip. We split our trip between safari and Zanzibar, which was the perfect honeymoon combination. One of the highlights of our stay was our stay at Zanzibar Sunrise at Bandas, which was an unforgettable place to end the trip, especially for the room with a pool, sea view, live music and atmosphere. For excursions in general, I recommend checking local companies or platforms like GetYourGuide, as they can sometimes be more affordable than booking through Tanzania Specialist. We used this approach for a couple of beach activities and it worked out great. One note: if I had to change one thing, I would choose a different hotel instead of The Seyyida Hotel in Zanzibar. We did have a 6h luggage delay when traveling from mainland Tanzania to Zanzibar, but that was due to the airline and not the company. Overall, the trip was an incredible experience. Riziki was very responsive throughout and always available to help with any questions. I am already planning to return with my family, and I would 100% recommend Tanzania Specialist and Roger Solomon as a guide.

My brother and I traveled with Tanzania Specialist from May 13–24, 2026, and had an unforgettable experience. Our trip included the Meru Waterfalls, Arusha Snake Park and Maasai Museum, Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro parks, plus time in Zanzibar. Everything was incredibly well organized, smooth, and comfortable from start to finish. Our guide, Makalo, was an absolute gem — such a kind, knowledgeable, and fun person to spend six days with. He went above and beyond to tailor the experience for my brother and me, making sure we had the best opportunities to see wildlife and capture amazing photos and videos. The accommodations were very comfortable, and the food was consistently delicious throughout the trip. A special shout-out as well to the staff at Sounds of Silence — they were absolutely incredible and made our stay extra memorable. May turned out to be a fantastic time to visit Tanzania: cooler weather, fewer crowds, and only a bit of rain. We were lucky enough to catch the end of the Great Migration in the Serengeti and see so many baby animals! I would 100% recommend Tanzania Specialist to anyone looking for a seamless, personalized, and truly memorable trip to Tanzania!

We’re on our way home from two weeks in Tanzania. Ten days safari and four in Zanzibar we’ve had the most incredible time. Tanzania Specialists satisfied from A to Z, from our first enquiry to every other detail from arrival to departure. Our driver Spear amongst all the other staff was absolutely exceptional as a guide, historian and driver. His knowledge of the wildlife was outstanding with many funny stories. This trip of a lifetime has delivered on that promise, with not only the big five but a vast array of animals and birds. The hotel selection was excellent the Serengeti Sounds of Silence and the Park Hyatt Zanzibar were standouts in a five star list. Awesome views, private pools and excellent all round service was constant at all the accommodation. I would recommend Tanzania Specialists to anyone interested in an African trip.

What an adventure! We went to Tanzania on our honeymoon and had such a positive experience! Tanzania Specialist were very adequate and professional from the start of our enquiry and we felt confident that they were the right choice for our trip. Albert from the office took a personal approach to look into all our requirements and preferences and booked us in promptly as per our wishes adding a few useful recommendations on the way. Upon arrival we were met by our key person - Frank and spent the following 7-8 days in his company - going on safaris in Tarangire and Serengeti National Parks and the Ngoro Ngoro conservation area and the crater. This guy was a brilliant guide and we had the luck to have him all for ourselves, as there were no other tourists with the same itinerary that week. Frank demonstrated exceptional competence about all species we saw during the safaris, knew his ways around the parks perfectly and his super friendly and humble attitude impressed us deeply. He is a real gem for the company! The places we stayed at were all incredible! Such comfort and authenticity everywhere - at each of the hotels and lodges and some amazing food too - especially in the Sound of Silence Lodge in Serengeti! The next part of our trip - in Zanzibar was no worse either, although rather different - after the busy days of safari, we had the chance to relax completely in the Fun Beach Resort on the coast of the Indian ocean enjoying a lovely huge pool and the perfect sunny weather. Our key person there - Ali also added to the positive experience we had - he proved as highly reliable and professional throughout our stay, accommodating all our requests promptly and with a friendly approach. Highly recommend Tanzania Specialist to anyone looking to experience the unforgettable adventure Tanzania has to offer!

We cannot say enough good things about how AMAZING our experience in Africa was & it wouldn’t have been possible without the Tanzania Specialist! From their travel agents to safari guides to lodging staff we were delightfully overwhelmed with how amazing this team was. Our travel agent helped curate both our safari itinerary and beach itinerary exactly to what my husband and I wanted for our honeymoon. They informed us about what to pack, what to wear, cultural aspects to be mindful of, specific rules of the country, arranged all our travel transfers (safari guides, airport pickups, extra excursion travel, etc.) and made the entire trip so easy. From the moment we stepped off the plane to the moment we got dropped back off, the Tanzania Specialist had us covered. Our safari guide, Innocent, became a friend not just a tour guide. He was so informative about the general culture, the animals, the parks, the best places to spot animals and got us positioned perfectly anytime we spotted anything. He was very easy to communicate with, every morning he picked us up he & the truck were cleaned up and ready for action, we loved how excited he was for the adventure he took us on everyday. We hope when we come back in a few years that we can have him guide us again! You absolutely have to book the hot air balloon ride of the Serengeti, it was truly surreal and a magical way to get a totally different view of the safari. Worth every single extra penny! The specialists packed us lunches for our safaris everyday which were great! Loads of food and tons of options, each lodge’s staff were so friendly & ready to help with whatever we needed. Each lodge also did an amazing job at really celebrating our honeymoon & making it feel special with beautiful decorations in our room each day when we returned, it was so sweet! In zanzibar our room was setup with champagne & fruit plate which was so special. We really want to thank the whole team for every part of our once in a lifetime adventure and a beautiful honeymoon!
