Nature Walking Safari along the Rift Valley wall & Cultural excursion Mto-wa-Mbu

Today you hike along the Great Rift Valley wall with beautiful views of Lake Manyara and the National Park below. You will see many birds, monkeys, bush buck and other forest animals. Immerse yourself in the sounds of the forest while the fresh streams and waterfalls surrounding you. You will learn about the local plants, insects, birds and small mammals from an expert guide who will explain and show you everything.

Later in the afternoon you will do a cultural excursion in Mto-wa-Mbu village which is nearby the Manyara park. Mto-wa-Mbu is thought to be one of the only place where there are representatives of all 120 Tanzania tribes.

You will walk through the community, markets, banana farms and school.  The guide will help you understand everything about the community and social life of the village. If you wish, you can also visit a local bar to taste ‘mbege’, a traditional banana and millet beer.

Additional information

The guided walking safari along the Lake Manyara national park leads through tropical vegetation along the park’s wildlife management area to the viewpoint of the lake itself. You will be able to see colorful birds of different species, monkeys and other small animals.
