Rhotia Valley Lodge lies on a hill between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara National Park, offering views of nearby plantations and the Ngorongoro Forest. The lodge offers 15 tented rooms, each with a private terrace and fitted with a king-sized bed, mosquito nets and an ensuite bathroom with hot water for post-safari refreshers. In the main area, you’ll find a refreshing pool, a dining area with a terrace (great for sunsdowners) and WiFi to share your pics of the day. And the best thing? This lodge carries a light footprint, by using indigenous hardwood for its buildings and growing its own vegetables on the farm. It also supports a children’s home (which you are welcome to visit), bakes bread for the school, and has a coffee corner that employs people from the local community.
