Mafia Kivulini Lodge

The Mafia Kivulini Lodge is perfectly located inside Mafia’s marine park boundaries, which makes it a great place to start your snorkeling, diving, fishing, or whale shark expeditions. But this lodge is not only for those who like to fish or go diving. It is actually a quaint little escape for those in need of tranquility from a fast-paced or busy life. Lying in between ancient trees (kivulini means in the shadow in Swahili) are only four rooms with a maximum capacity of eight guests – a beautiful, private atmosphere is therefore ensured.

The rooms are immaculate and crisp. Electric fans silently hum as they dole out gentle breezes, while on hot days you can switch on the AC. Breakfast and dinner are served in the restaurant, with breakfast consisting of seasonal fresh fruits, muffins, pancakes, and more. Dinner is a 3-course set menu, serving mostly tropical dishes that are prepared with coconut milk. Of course, you can also dine on fresh seafood, with the fishermen right outside on the ocean. For your freshwater drinking pleasure, there is a jug full of water in the room coming from the lodge’s own borehole that produces crystal-clear drinking water!
