Magoroto Forest Estate

Magoroto Forest Estate lies in the middle of a tropical rainforest on the eastern patch of the Usambara Mountains, close to the city of Tanga. Located on a mountain leading up to a beautiful lake surrounded by lush rainforest, it offers rooms in the main house away from the lake (with Wi-Fi), lake-side wooden A-frame cottages with shared bathrooms, as well as ensuite lake cabins. The lake-side accommodation has no telephone reception nor Wi-Fi, which creates the perfect opportunity to go off-grid. Magoroto has a great outdoors-flair, far away from mass tourism, where temperatures are pleasant year-round as it’s situated 850 metres above sea level. Explore the surrounding rainforest with rare plants and bird species, go on a spice tour, visit the waterfall, try some fishing or mountain-biking or take a boat trip on the lake.
