For 5 times in a row now, Tanzania is the winner of Best Safari Country in Africa. Over 2,500 safari travelers and experts participated in this large survey conducted by SafariBookings.com. The panel also included 22 renowned guidebook authors from e.g. Rough Guides and Lonely Planet. Tanzania came out as the clear winner. Also, Zanzibar, a popular beach extension after a safari, was very popular.
Africa’s natural wonders
North Tanzania is home to three of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. Firstly Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro, secondly the world’s largest overland migration named the great wildebeest migration and finally the Ngorongoro Crater which shelters have the highest concentration of wildlife.
Pure nature
Tanzania is one of the few countries where you can still experience an authentic safari. The national parks and game reserves cover almost 35% of the country’s territory. A huge territory with endless plains, dust roads and no fences. Pure nature with a stunning variety of landscapes, from savannah, lakes, and craters to valleys, forests, mountains and tropical beaches.
Interesting cultures
Tanzania is a beautiful mix of cultures. More than 120 ethnic groups live together peacefully, from Maasai Warriors to the Hadzabe Bushmen.
