Ndutu (only from end of December to March during the calving season of the Great Migration)

From late December through March, the Ndutu region becomes the heart of the Great Migration, as over 2 million animals arrive to give birth. The Ndutu region straddles the southern part of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The short, nutrient-rich grass makes the area a haven for newborn zebras and wildebeests, but also a prime spot for predators. This seasonal gathering creates close-up wildlife sightings and constant activity across the plains.
