Rhotia Valley Lodge sits on a hill, offering views of nearby plantations and the Ngorongoro forest, as the lodge lies between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara National Park. The lodge is made up of 15 tented safari rooms, each with a veranda to enjoy the view from. Inside, you’ll find a king-sized bed, mosquito net, and an ensuite bathroom with hot water for those post-safari refreshers. In the main area, you’ll find a refreshing pool, a dining area with a terrace for your sunsets and WiFi to send out your pics of the day.
And the best thing? This lodge is more than just a place to stay, as it tries to be environmentally friendly by using indigenous hardwood for its buildings, and growing vegetables on its farm. It’s also grounded in the community, as it supports a children’s home, bakes bread for schools in the area, and has a coffee corner that employs people from the community. Part of the lodge’s revenue goes to the orphanage, and guests are welcome to visit!
