Octagon Lodge

Nestled in six acres of colourful and exotic gardens, Octagon Lodge is a small oasis of peace located in Karatu. The lodge’s aesthetic is reminiscent of old African farmhouses, with rooms in stone cottages or wooden chalets. All rooms are appointed with lovely wood and wrought-iron furniture and feature double or single beds with mosquito nets, ensuite bathrooms and a small terrace. Head to the scenic gardens for a relaxing walk or dive into the saltwater pool for a refreshing dip. At the heart of the lodge, you find the African-style Irish bar, where you can enjoy your drink while the sun sets over the tropical vegetation. The restaurant of the lodge serves European and African cuisine with vegetables from its garden, and – last but not least – fresh spring water coming from a private well.
