The Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp borders the Udzungwa Mountains National Park in the Kilombero Valley in southern Tanzania. The camp is locally known as Hondo Hondo, which means “hornbill” in Swahili, due to the amazing number of these remarkable birds that make the area their home. Hondo Hondo’s lush green terrain is located on the edge of the pristine rainforest and offers excellent views of the forest roof. A number of different species of hornbills fly over the edge of the forest and at sunset each evening they settle in large numbers in trees along the boundaries of the rainforest, and the valley echoes with their distinctive calls.

The tented camp offers comfortable safari tents with en-suite bathroom and private terrace, as well as cabins. Enjoy a shower under the bare sky and feel completely at one with nature. A fantastic place!
