The Kuza Cave is one of the best kept secrets of Zanzibar. It is an ancient limestone jungle cave with crystal clear turquoise fresh water. There is easy access to the cave and a reception area with a restaurant and a large shady area where you can buy food and drinks.
The area around the cave is a peaceful nature reserve for wildlife, including red stump monkeys, colourful butterflies, many birds and bush babies. Kuza is a great family friendly all-weather attraction as the cave is very sheltered. Many visitors say that they feel so refreshed after swimming in the cave that this is a highlight of their Zanzibar trip.
There is an extended tour that explains the archaeology and geological formation of the cave that can be booked in addition. You can book the tour in combination with a Swahili cooking lesson followed by lunch, a drumming and dancing lesson or in combination with Swahili history and music.
